Solar & Battery Installation in Yolo, Yuba & Sutter

Farm-town valleys where the sun is relentless and the grid is stretched thin. Good country for solar.

PG&E, with a local twist

Who sells you power out here

PG&E runs the wires across all three counties, and two Yolo cities buy their power locally instead.

PG&E delivers everywhere

Poles, wires, the meter and the interconnection application are PG&E’s across West Sacramento, Yuba City and Marysville.

Valley Clean Energy in two cities

Woodland and Davis households get their electricity purchased by Valley Clean Energy, a locally governed agency, while PG&E still delivers it.

One bill, two line items

Whichever agency buys your power, you still get a single PG&E bill. We read it with you before we size anything.

Delta sun, flat land

Why these valleys suit solar so well

Hot, cloudless summers and roofs that rarely fight you.

Almost no shade to dodge

Orchard-country subdivisions and farm-town streets tend to be wide open, so an array can face the afternoon sun without compromise.

Long irrigation-season load

Shops, well pumps and a hard-working air conditioner all pull during daylight, which is when a system produces the most.

A grid at the end of the line

Rural feeders take longer to restore after storms, and that is why more households out here ask us about backup than used to.

What applies here

Yolo, Yuba & Sutter incentives

Most of the help in these counties comes from the state rather than the utility. SGIP, California’s storage incentive, can fund a large share of a battery for households that qualify on medical need or on high fire-risk location, and the qualifying tiers are worth checking parcel by parcel. Woodland and Davis residents served by Valley Clean Energy should also ask about whatever local programs the agency has running when you quote, since those change from year to year. The federal 30% credit for purchased home solar ended December 31, 2025; some third-party-owned lease and PPA programs can still apply a federal credit through 2027.

We do not publish Valley Clean Energy figures here because their offerings shift and we would rather quote you the current terms than a stale number. Every state and local program depends on eligibility and available funding, so we verify before you decide.

Where we work

Cities in Yolo, Yuba & Sutter

Five river and farm towns, each with its own roof stock and its own quirks.

West Sacramento

Close to home for us, with a mix of older cottages near the river and newer builds on the south end that go up quickly.

See the area

Woodland

Valley Clean Energy country, deep lots and detached garages that often make a tidy spot for a battery.

See the area

Davis

Plenty of homes that already have older arrays, so half our work here is adding storage or reworking an undersized system.

See the area

Yuba City

Orchard-edge neighborhoods with long, sunny roof planes and simple layouts, which keeps installs efficient.

See the area

Marysville

Older housing stock behind the levees, where a panel upgrade is often step one before anything else gets designed.

Common questions

Yolo, Yuba & Sutter questions

What is Valley Clean Energy and does it change my solar?

It is the local agency that buys electricity for Woodland and Davis while PG&E delivers it. Your interconnection still runs through PG&E, and we confirm current agency terms when we quote.

Do you drive out to Yuba City and Marysville regularly?

Yes. They are a normal part of our route, and we schedule those jobs in blocks so a crew is up there for consecutive days rather than one at a time.

My house already has panels from years ago. Can you add a battery?

Usually. It depends on your inverter type and main panel capacity, and we check both before recommending anything.

How long do permits take in these counties?

It varies by jurisdiction more than by county. We tell you the realistic window for your specific city at quote time instead of quoting a best case.
