New Roof Installation in Sacramento & Northern California

A roof that has years left is what makes an array worth mounting. When it does not, this is the part that comes first.

When to replace

Three moments when a roof goes first.

Panels last a quarter century. The surface under them has to be ready for that.

Under ten years left

If the roof will not outlive the array by a wide margin, replacing it now is cheaper than pulling panels off later to get at it.

It is already failing

Curling or missing shingles, granule loss in the gutters, cracked tile, soft decking, a stain on a bedroom ceiling. Those get fixed before anything is mounted.

A different surface makes sense

A flat patio addition, an old tar-and-gravel section, or a metal upgrade you have been putting off. We handle each material rather than talking you into one.

Materials

Four surfaces we install.

What your house has, what the slope allows, and what you want to look at.

Composition shingle

From architectural laminates up to premium designer and presidential-style profiles, with material warranties running from roughly 25 years to 50 by tier.

Concrete and clay tile

Repair, relay or full replacement, including the underlayment underneath, which is usually the part that actually failed.

TPO for flat and low slope

Heat-welded single-ply for patio additions, porch roofs and low-pitch sections where shingles do not belong.

Standing-seam metal

Long service life, clean lines, and the best surface there is for mounting solar without penetrating the roof plane.

Decking and ventilation

Soft sheathing replaced, intake and exhaust ventilation corrected so the attic is not cooking the new roof from below.

Flashing done properly

Valleys, walls, chimneys, vents and skylights reflashed. This is where roofs leak, and where a fast job shows up two winters later.

How it works

Six stages of a re-roof.

Noisy, quick, and cleaner than you expect if the crew is organised.

  1. 01

    Inspection and measurement

We get on the roof, check decking and ventilation, measure planes and photograph the trouble spots for you to see.

  2. 02

    Material and tier choice

You pick the surface and the warranty tier with the trade-offs explained, including how each one behaves under panels.

  3. 03

    Permit and scheduling

The roofing permit goes out and we book the tear-off around the weather rather than around our calendar.

  4. 04

    Tear-off and repair

Old surface off, decking inspected, soft sheathing replaced, penetrations opened up for new flashing.

  5. 05

    Dry-in and install

Underlayment, flashing, then the finish surface. The house is watertight at the end of each working day.

  6. 06

    Clean-up and walk-through

Magnet rolled over the yard and drive, debris hauled, then we walk the roofline and the attic with you.

Warranty

What the roof carries when we leave.

WorkmanshipTen years on our installation, including every flashing detail and penetration we make.
MaterialsManufacturer coverage by tier, from roughly 25 years on architectural shingle to 50 on premium designer product.
VentilationIntake and exhaust corrected as part of the job, because a hot attic shortens any roof.
Solar-ready detailIf panels are coming, mounting locations are planned into the layout instead of improvised later.
One contactRoof and array are both ours, so there is no argument later about which trade caused what.

All electrical and roofing work is performed by appropriately licensed professionals.

Money and rules

Where roofing sits in the incentive picture.

Roofing is not a solar incentive, and we will not pretend otherwise. What matters financially is sequence: replacing an aging roof before the array goes on avoids paying a second time to remove and reinstall panels. The remaining solar and storage programs — SMUD battery rebates of up to $6,000 for qualifying customers and the statewide Self-Generation Incentive Program — attach to the energy equipment, while the 30% federal credit for purchased home solar ended on December 31, 2025.

Roofing scope and energy scope follow different rules, so we keep them separate in writing and explain which line belongs to which at the quote.

Questions

Roofing questions.

How long does a re-roof take?

A typical single-family composition roof is two to four working days. Tile and large or complex rooflines take longer, and weather moves the schedule more than anything else.

Can you re-roof and install solar in one project?

Yes, and that is the cleanest way to do it. The roof and solar package page covers how the two schedules fit together.

Do I have to leave the house?

No. It is loud and there is a crew overhead, so people with newborns or night shifts often plan around it, but the house stays livable.

What if you find rotten decking?

We show you the photographs, replace what is soft, and price that plainly. Nobody covers up bad sheathing with new shingles.

Which surface is best under panels?

Standing-seam metal is the easiest to mount without penetrating, and architectural shingle is the most common and entirely fine. Tile works too, with the right flashing detail.
