Roof + Solar Package in Sacramento & Northern California

One company, one schedule, one number to call afterward — and no paying twice to take panels off a roof that needed replacing anyway.

Why one project

The case for doing both at once.

Sequence is the whole argument here.

You only pay for removal once

Mount an array on a roof with a few years left and you will pay a crew to pull it, store it and put it back. Doing the roof first deletes that line entirely.

One crew, one calendar

Two contractors mean two schedules, two permits and a gap where each blames the other for the weather. One scope means one date that holds.

One warranty conversation

When the roof and the array are ours, a stain on the ceiling is our problem to diagnose. Nobody sends you back and forth.

What is included

Two trades, one drawing set.

Planned together, which is how the flashing and the mounts end up in the right places.

A roof chosen with panels in mind

Surface and tier picked knowing an array is going on it, so mounting locations and flashing are designed rather than improvised.

Tear-off, decking, ventilation

The old surface comes off, soft sheathing gets replaced, and attic ventilation is corrected before anything new goes down.

Premium panels

Premium panels with a 25-year manufacturer warranty, laid out on the planes the new roof gives you.

Enphase microinverters

One per module, with panel-level monitoring and rapid shutdown built in at the roof.

Mounts set into new flashing

Penetrations are made and flashed as part of the roofing work, not cut into a finished roof afterwards.

One permit pathway

Roofing and solar permits coordinated, and the utility interconnection filed so approval is waiting when the roof is done.

How it works

Six stages across both trades.

Roof first, array behind it, one inspection sequence.

  1. 01

    One visit for both

Roof condition, decking, ventilation, roof planes, shade and the main panel all assessed in the same walk-through.

  2. 02

    Combined proposal

Roofing tier and solar design in one document, with the two scopes itemised so you can see exactly what each covers.

  3. 03

    Permits filed together

Roofing and solar permits plus the interconnection application, sequenced so the array is approved by the time the roof is finished.

  4. 04

    Roof goes on

Tear-off, repairs, dry-in, flashing and finish surface, with mount locations set as the roof is built.

  5. 05

    Array goes up

Rail, modules, microinverters and conduit onto a roof that is new underneath, with every penetration already flashed.

  6. 06

    Inspections and switch-on

Roofing and electrical sign-offs, then permission to operate and a walk-through of both halves with you.

Equipment and warranty

Both halves, both covered.

RoofComposition, tile, TPO or standing-seam metal, with manufacturer coverage from roughly 25 to 50 years by tier.
PanelsPremium modules with a 25-year manufacturer warranty on product and output.
MicroinvertersEnphase, one per panel, reporting production module by module.
WorkmanshipTen years from us covering both the roofing and the solar installation.
AccountabilityOne contract and one phone number for the roof, the mounts and the array.

All electrical and roofing work is performed by appropriately licensed professionals.

Money and rules

What applies to which half.

The energy half is where programs apply. SMUD battery rebates of up to $6,000 and the statewide Self-Generation Incentive Program attach to qualifying storage, and the 30% federal credit for purchased home solar ended on December 31, 2025, with some third-party-owned lease and PPA arrangements still able to apply a federal credit through 2027. California’s active solar energy system property tax exclusion also means the array does not reassess the house. Roofing follows none of those rules, which is exactly why the two scopes stay itemised separately.

We write the roofing and the energy work as distinct line items so you, your tax preparer and any lender can see which is which without guessing.

Questions

Package questions.

How much longer does the combined project take?

A handful of extra days on site. The roof is two to four days, the array a day or two behind it, and the permits were filed in parallel so no extra waiting is added.

Can I finance the whole package together?

Financing available on approved credit. We will help you find a monthly payment that fits, and walk you through your options at your free quote — no pressure.

What if I only need part of the roof replaced?

That happens often — one slope, one addition, one failed section. We replace what needs it and lay out the array accordingly.

Does the roof warranty still apply with panels on it?

Yes, when the mounting and flashing are done correctly. That is precisely the risk that disappears when one company owns both trades.

Is it cheaper than hiring two companies?

It removes duplicated mobilisation, duplicated permit trips and the future removal-and-reinstall bill. You are paying for one coordinated project rather than two overlapping ones.
